Carlos Rodriguez ( b. 1980, Mexico) is a Mexico City, based artist. Initially trained in graphic design at the Universidad de San Luis Potosi, he began his career in advertising as an Illustrator and art director before transitioning into a full time artistic practice. Exploring the realms of desire, gender, and identity, Rodriguez employs drawings, paintings, and ceramics that pay homage to the male form. Drawing on references from classical scuplture, 20th century painting, naïve art, and queer visual culture , his figures inhabith playful and often fantastic enviroments.
